As the Solo Trans Tasman Yacht race from
Taranaki NZ to Mooloolaba Australia kicked off on
Sun 08 Apr 2007,
the event was blessed with the most glorious weather, literally
thousands upon thousands of people were out to support this
wonderful event. The journey is expected to take between
six to 15 days, the yachts sailed from the port to the New
Plymouth foreshore, once there, the race started in front
of New Plymouth's Icon, the Windwand.
